When Leadership Changes, Start Here: The Power of Shared Conversation

When leaders leave roles, how can we expect folks across the organization to remain aligned?

What happens in the c-suite usually trickles down to the rest of the organization. Teams change, but change among leadership is especially impactful. So how do we get our top teams up and running when there is change?

It seems too simple to be true, but honestly, the first best thing you can do for your newly formed leadership team is get them in a room to have thoughtfully produced conversations.

When leaders have an open space to talk, they can get context, build trust, learn, plan, and co-develop new insights.

We often think leaders need some kind of special treatment, that they need to be handled with care due to their position. This might lead us to overcomplicate or under develop their moments together.

However, leaders are highly skilled and their role implies that they can be trusted to have hard conversations. Giving them that chance is the best thing you can do to get them off to a good start.

If your leadership team is newly formed, I highly recommend making some space for them to have the conversations they need to have to step forward and produce an aligned organization.
